EI Principal Joe McAnneny was hired to assist the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission in evaluating the competitive impact of the proposed BHP Billiton acquisition of Rio Tinto. The transaction impacted a number of mining markets, including iron ore. At the end of September 2008, the Commission announced they would not opposed the transaction.
