Philip Nelson, who is a vice chair of the ABA Antitrust Section’s Health Care and Pharmaceuticals committee recently organized two seminars on the pharmaceutical industry. One session focused on antitrust enforcement efforts with respect to pharmaceutical products in the US and Europe, including discussion of settlements between generics and branded suppliers and recent dawn raids in the EU. The other session focused on ongoing litigation related to the use of Average Wholesale Prices (AWP) in pricing pharmaceuticals.
