EI Principal William Hall testifies in United States Bankruptcy Court regarding the competitive effects of a proposed acquisition of casinos in Atlantic City.

EI Principal William Hall submitted an expert report and testified on behalf of Icahn Partners in the matter of TCI Holdings, LLC, et al. in United States Bankruptcy Court, District of New Jersey. Icahn Partners controls the Tropicana Casino and Resort and submitted a plan to acquire the Trump Taj Mahal, the Trump Plaza and the Trump Marina. The testimony was with respect to the likelihood of regulatory hurdles before the Federal Trade Commission or the New Jersey Casino Control Commission if the Court were to accept the plan submitted by Icahn Partners. Dr. Hall, who previously testified before the NJCCC on three separate acquisitions over the past decade, testified that competition would continue to remain vigorous even if Icahn Partners controlled four Atlantic City casinos. Judge Wizmur agreed with Dr. Hall’s testimony and concluded that “neither agency would ultimately impede the Beal/Icahn plan from being implemented.”
