Keith Waehrer lead a seminar titled “Lessons from Sprint/T-Mobile Merger Investigations, Litigation, and Remedy”

Secretariat Economists Managing Director Keith Waehrer lead a seminar titled “Lessons from Sprint/T-Mobile Merger Investigations, Litigation, and Remedy” in the Mannheim Competition Policy Forum (MCPF) online series organized by Mannheim Centre for Competition and Innovation (MaCCI).

Dr. Waehrer discussed several lessons from the investigations by regulators and litigation by a group of State Attorneys General over the Sprint/T-Mobile merger in the US. Notable was the somewhat unique remedy crafted by the DOJ. Is the remedy playing out as expected? Even if it had resolved competition concerns, did the remedy make sense from a broader economic welfare perspective.
