John Bowblis, Ph.D. is an Associate Professor of Economics and Scripps Research Fellow at Miami University (Ohio). Prior to joining the faculty at Miami University, he worked at a Research Economist for Princeton Economics Group, a litigation consulting firm in Princeton, NJ.
Dr. Bowblis specializes in applied industrial organization and health economics. His research experience includes work on firm competition, market definition, medical billing practices, long-term care policy and regulation. His research particularly focuses on various health care sectors, including, hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, nursing homes, skilled nursing facilities, assisted living facilities, health insurers, physician practices, and other health care providers.
Dr. Bowblis has been retained as an expert and provided litigation support in matters pertaining to the competitive impact of mergers, defining relevant product and geographic markets, restraint of competition, pricing fixing, tying in aftermarkets, and damage estimation. These cases involved the following industries: airlines, assisted living facilities, basic processed food products, commercial printers, hospital services, investment banking, motorsports and pharmaceuticals.
