Dr. Paul Godek is a Senior Vice President at Economists Incorporated in its Washington, DC office. He has 30 years of experience in litigation consulting – in the areas of antitrust, class certification, commercial damages, and securities fraud. In 2016, 2017 and 2019, the publication Who’s Who Legal, Consulting Experts listed Dr. Godek among “Leaders in the Field” in the category of Competition Economists.

Dr. Godek served at both of the federal antitrust agencies. He was the Economic Advisor to the Director of the Bureau of Competition at the Federal Trade Commission. Prior to that, he was a staff economist with the Antitrust Division of the Department of Justice. After his government experience, Dr. Godek joined Economists Incorporated. He has also been affiliated with Compass Lexecon, SLCG: Securities Litigation & Consulting Group, MiCRA: Microeconomic Consulting and Research Associates, and Navigant Economics.

Dr. Godek has made a number of written and oral presentations to the antitrust authorities and to various other federal agencies, including the Department of Commerce, the Federal Communications Commission, the Internal Revenue Service, the International Trade Commission, and the Securities and Exchange Commission. Dr. Godek has testified as an expert witness on behalf of the Department of Justice and in private litigation. He has also been retained as a consulting expert by the Federal Trade Commission.

Dr. Godek has extensive experience dealing with large and complex data bases in the context of litigation. Both in government service and in private practice, his work has focused on the application of statistics and econometrics to antitrust and class-certification issues and to the computation of damages. Examples of Dr. Godek’s publications relating to industrial organization and public policy can be found in such journals as Antitrust Bulletin, Antitrust Source, Competition Policy International, Economic Inquiry, Journal of Financial Economics, and Journal of Law and Economics.
