A few days after Coca Cola announced its proposed takeover of China’s Huiyuan Juice, EI economist Su Sun was interviewed by Law360 on China’s antitrust review of this proposed transaction. Dr. Sun was actively involved in the consultation process in China’s drafting of its first Antimonopoly Law, and has written extensively on such issues in both English and Chinese publications. In this interview, he pointed out that the Antimonopoly Bureau of China’s Ministry of Commerce would look at factors such as market definition and ease of entry to determine the competitive impact of this takeover.
